Every time I walk into a new organization, I donโt begin with charts or strategies. I begin with listening.
Why? Because behind every role, every goal, every great teamโthereโs a deeper story. And in those stories lies something powerful: the spark of joy that often gets buried beneath routine.

Sometime back when I visited the India Insure office in Hyderabad, I saw a vibrant, energetic, enthusiastic group of executives. Technically sound. Delivery-focused. Sincere. As their HR head Sunil put it, โ๐๐ข๐ฎ, ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ณ๐จ๐บโ๐ด ๐ฉ๐ช๐จ๐ฉ. ๐๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ๐บ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฆโ๐ด ๐ง๐ถ๐ฏ๐ค๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ. ๐๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐ ๐ด๐ฆ๐ฆ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ซ๐ฐ๐บ ๐ข๐ต ๐ธ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฌ.โ
We started our journey with India Insure about 20 years back and ever since I have witnessed the growth of the organization. Their service qualities ensure that their clients are delighted.
When we started our โ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ป ๐๐ผ ๐ช๐ถ๐ป โ ๐๐ป๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ช๐ถ๐ปโ Program with them last year we began by asking them a simple question:
โWhatโs one moment that has made you happy to be part of this team?โ
At firstโsilence. Some chuckles. A few unsure glances. And then, slowly, a story emerged. One team member shared how everyone stayed back one night to solve a client issueโnot because they had to, but because they cared. Another spoke about being comforted by a teammate during a tough personal time.

Laughter followed. Heads nodded. Smiles widened. Stories created space for the team to bond with each other.
That very afternoon, the team decided to start โ๐๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒโ in every team meeting.
Someone shares a work moment that made them feel alive. No rules. No slides. Just authentic human connection.
And what changed?

Thatโs what joy does. It reminds us we matter.
